“The demarcation of certain groups for special protection, later extended to gender and sexual orientation, split them from the general populace by defining them as permanent victims, burdened by an inescapable past,” she writes.

Most are cut between infancy and age 15, but women up to age 49 have been thus mutilated. The World Health Organization defines four categories of (FGM/C): 1. clitirodectomy alone; 2. excision (of a considerably wide variation of female genital tissue); 3. infibulation—literally a form of “sealing” (excising the entire clitoris and labia and stitching together the edges of the vulva to prevent sexual intercourse).

The fourth category is for those FGM/C victims who are mutilated beyond even the above classifications.

Less Politics, More Superhero Stories for Marvel Comics in 2017

On a related note, Marvel is pulling the plug on its project of turning its superhero comics into social justice lectures after sales tanked.

One story saw Iron Man as a black teenage girl. Captain America is also a black woman in the Spider Gwen series. In the version in which Cap is still a white male, Marvel made him a Nazi (though they quickly back-peddled). Thor is now a woman as well. Miss Marvel is Muslim. A partially-robotic Donald Trump was made the villain in Spider Gwen Annual #1.

The Daily Wire spoke with comic writer and artist Bosch Fawstin to get his opinion on Marvel's return to sanity:

"They're hitting the wall that they built in the marketplace. It's shameful; they've completely inverted the entire purpose of these comics. They're made for entertainment; they're made to tell stories of good versus evil."

Me Too

I was eleven or so when I saw an article in Life Magazine (I think) about the stage musical "Flower Drum Song", pictures of Pat Suzuki.  Heard this song on the radio and always wished to see the play.  Haven't seen the film either -- that wasn't Pat Suzuki but Nancy Kwan. My dad had the sheet music so I learned all the lyrics.

Anyhow, just in time for International Women's Day I give you the definitive "I Enjoy Being A Girl".

I'm strictly a female female
And my future I hope will be
In the home of a brave and free male
Who'll enjoy being a guy having a girl like me.

Nordstrom Dropping Ivanka's Line

I'm not buying the official explanation, but what do I know?  

The change followed a weeks-long boycott campaign, organized by an anti-Trump activist group called “Grab Your Wallet.” The group demanded the department-store giant cease doing business with the president or his family.

In a statement, the Nordstrom representative said that Ivanka Trump products were being dropped because of poor sales. Its statement did not mention the group’s boycott effort.

Law professor (recently retired) Ann Althouse sees it this way:

The woman must be destroyed.

A woman with a business is subject to special rules. Political rules. And if she does not hew to them, she must be destroyed. By a gang of women. You know how women help women? They don't. They expect women to hit a higher standard. Backwards in high heels. And if she looks pretty dancing backwards in those high heels, we'll actively trip her and laugh when she falls.
